Fazıl Say “Mother Earth” 

The festival concludes with two concerts featuring world-renowned pianist and composer Fazıl Say’s highly acclaimed new work Mother Earth. 

Inspired by the works of prominent women poets, Say’s Mother Earth consists of song-form arrangements of poems by Gülten Akın, Sezen Aksu, Şükûfe Nihal Başar, Forugh Farrokhzad, Birhan Keskin, Selenay Koçer, Didem Madak, Nilgün Marmara, Bejan Matur, Ayten Mutlu and Ece Temelkuran. Fazıl Say will be accompanied in these concerts by the powerful voice of Serenad Bağcan, as well as two distinguished jazz musicians: Volkan Hürsever on double bass and Ferit Odman on drums. The narrated presentation of the works in these closing concerts will be delivered by Yekta Kopan.
